Frequently asked questions
Is it cheaper for more hours?
Yes. From 2 hours every hour costs less, and from 4 hours less still, up to 8 hours. The booking card shows the saving as you choose the hours. The lake closes at 6 pm, so a long day starts in the morning.
Can you pick us up at our hotel or house?
Yes, at your hotel's dock or an Airbnb near it: you choose the place when you book. From 2 hours it's free; for less than 2 hours it's the "Pickup at your dock" extra. If your hotel is not on the list, message us and we'll price it.
Is the captain included?
Yes, the rental always includes a certified professional captain.
Can we swim during the tour?
Yes, swimming stops are allowed in safe and calm areas.
Is this a shared tour?
No, this is a fully private experience.
Can we bring our own drinks and food?
Yes, you may bring your own drinks and snacks. Glass containers are not allowed.
Is music allowed on board?
Yes, the boat includes a Bluetooth sound system.
Does the captain speak English?
No: it's a rental, not a tour, and the captain speaks Spanish. If you'd like a bilingual guide (English or Spanish), add one as an extra when you book; it is charged for every hour of the rental.
Can we bring our own speaker or a musician?
Yes. The pontoon has a Bluetooth sound system, but you can bring your own or a musician, with no volume limit.
What happens if it rains?
Light rain usually does not cancel the ride. If there is a storm or the weather is not safe, the ride is rescheduled for another date; the money is not refunded.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, on a leash, with the "Dog on board" extra (COP 40,000, it covers cleaning): add it when you book.
How many people fit?
Up to 15 people. For bigger groups we have pontoons for 35, 40 (luxury) and 50 people: see "Pick the size for your group" on this page.
What do we do on the pontoon?
There is no fixed route, and there are two plans: cruise calm spots on the lake with swimming stops and your music, or go past where Pablo Escobar's house stood and where the old town of El Peñol was flooded when the dam was built, and take photos with the Rock. You choose on board.
Can babies come?
Yes, from 1 year old. We have life jackets from the 2-year size.
Until what time can we be on the lake?
Until 6pm, sunset rides included.
Can you film us with a drone?
Yes. You can add the videographer or drone extra when you book: COP 400,000 for 2 hours or COP 600,000 for 3 hours.
