1. Private Transportation

The price can vary due to the number of passengers, the type of the car, and the distance of your accommodations both in Medellin and Guatapé

You can book private transportation with us, here.

Pros.

  • It is the most comfortable option because it picks you up and drops you wherever you want/need. Which of course can be at your hotels.
  • This is a good option if you are traveling with more people and want to stick together and share the expenses.
  • You can arrange according to your schedule

Cons.

  • if you are traveling alone, this can be the most expensive option compared to the others.

2. Public Bus

Average Price: COP $20,000 (USD $5.00).

You can get a bus ticket in: https://www.redbus.co/

To take the bus you need to get to Terminal del Norte which is the bus station. You can get there by taxi our Uber.

Pros.

  • It is a very cheap option.
  • There are many buses coming and going all day so there are many hour options you can book.
  • The bus terminal in Guatapé is not too far from the main square where you can also get a “Motochiva” (three wheel motorbike), or “Chivero” (Jeeps that carry up to 10 people) to get to your hotel or final destination.

Cons.

  • You will have to do several stops and get other transport options to get to your hotel.
  • Long lines at the bus station.
  • Many people use the bus so it can be very busy. Which may mean the bus won't go out on time, you might need to wait for another bus because buses are full etc. But maybe you'll get lucky and don't have to face all that.
